A Thousand Cranes Wedding

We'd not heard of the Japanese tradition of Senbazuru, which has a couple folding 1,000 paper cranes together, until Samantha and Lucas's wedding. A couple who does this learns patience and work through ideas and challenges together, and the tradition holds that the crane can then carry the couples wishes to heaven.

It made an INCREDIBLE backdrop, don't you think?

Late March is still a little wintry looking out here, you can still see Sand Mountain across the way, but Spring is starting to peek out. You'll see the purple phaceilia and the white violets carpeting the mountain rocks behind the barn (so if purple is your thing, you want late March!)

The hexagon wedding arbor was chosen, and decorated by Mayflowers of Chattanooga:

We love an unusual guest book, and the couple had everyone sign a favorite record:
